In March 2011, Bravo announced that the fourth season of the series would be renamed Tabatha Takes Over and the premise would be expanded beyond just hair salons to include Coffey "taking over" various other small businesses and family enterprises. Blood tests and imaging of the brain's structure (CT, MRI, PET scans to exclude other causes of cognitive impairment).Evaluation of mood to detect depression symptoms may include problems with memory or feeling “foggy.” Depression is widespread and may be especially common in older adults.Neurological assessment to check the function of nerves and reflexes, movement, coordination, balance and senses.A score below 26 is considered consistent with MCI. A MoCA score of 26 and above is considered normal. The Montreal Cognitive Assessment test or MoCA is a common tool. Cognitive assessment using brief tests designed to evaluate baseline memory, planning, judgment, ability to understand visual information and other key thinking skills.Assessment of independent function and daily activities, focusing on changes in a person's typical level of functioning.Thorough medical history (including input from a family member or a friend) where the physician documents current symptoms, previous illnesses and medical conditions, any family history of significant memory problems or dementia and changes in functioning.Diagnosis is based on medical history, physical assessment, blood tests, mental status assessment, neurological examination and imaging studies.Ī medical workup for MCI includes the following core elements: Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a "clinical" diagnosis representing a physician’s professional judgment about the reason for a person's symptoms. Other causes include medication side effects, traumatic brain injury, sleep deprivation, anxiety and depression. The risk factors most strongly linked to MCI are the same as those for dementia, including advancing age, family history of Alzheimer's disease or another dementia, and stroke or cardiovascular disease. Experts believe that many cases could result from brain changes occurring in the very early stages of Alzheimer's disease or other dementias. The causes of MCI are not yet completely understood. Thinking skills that may be affected include the ability to make decisions, judge the time or sequence of steps needed to complete a complex task or visual perception. MCI that affects thinking skills other than memory is known as non-amnestic MCI.MCI that primarily affects memory is known as amnestic MCI. A person may start to forget important information that he or she would previously have recalled easily, such as appointments, conversations or recent events.MCI can be classified into subtypes based on the skills affected, as amnestic and non-amnestic MCI, and as single domain and multiple domains MCI. It is estimated that about 15 to 20 per cent of adults aged 65 years and above have MCI. About 10 to 15 per cent of older adults with MCI progress to dementia every year. People living with mild cognitive impairment may either revert to normal, remain stable or progress to dementia. They are not severe enough to impact activities of daily life, and therefore, do not meet the diagnostic criteria for dementia. Mild cognitive impairment causes cognitive changes that are serious enough to be noticed by a person (or those close to them), and detectable by cognitive assessment. A person with MCI is at an increased risk of developing Alzheimer's disease or another type of dementia. Modern systems often have many levels of safety interlocks. Once it does happen, do you have to reset something to make it work, or does it self-recover eventually? Have you been down there when this happens? It is often easier to evaluate if you can see it happen. If the HVAC system struggles to keep up with the thermostat set temperature, it can explain it not working. Many of the things have a fairly decent troubleshooting section in their manual. This reduces cooling and heating efficiency as well as strains the HVAC components. When the air filters are dirty and clogged, air will struggle to pass through them. If the filters are not working, the thermostat will not be able to function correctly. The filters are responsible for trapping dirt and dust particles. If your thermostat is not working, you may want to check the filters. Next, move all obstructions to allow for a steady stream of cool air in and hot air out (or vice versa in the winter). Therefore, check if there are any closed or blocked vents. If the airflow is blocked, your HVAC system will struggle to satisfy the thermostat, and the thermostat will not function properly. The airflow is responsible for supplying cool air to the rooms in your home. Airflow is a significant factor in how your heating and cooling system performs. If your thermostat is not working, you may want to check the airflow. If you are having trouble programming your thermostat, just give us a call. This feature is meant to optimize efficiency, but the homeowner can disable it if they so choose.Īnd lastly, verify the thermostat is set to Cooling mode if you want air conditioning and set to Heating mode if you desire hot air.Įach thermostat configuration is different, but the owner's manual guides you through the programmable settings. If it seems like your thermostat has a mind of its own, it may be programmed to run on a pre-set schedule.Ī Smart Thermostat can automatically adjust the set temperature based on how frequently the homeowner is home or away. So, for example, the thermostat may run the set temperature to be 68 degrees from 7 am-7 pm, and after 7 pm it raises the set temperature to 70 degrees. This means that the set temperature varies depending on the time of day. Some thermostats run based on a programmed schedule. As a result, your utility bills skyrocket. If the thermostat for your furnace is functioning the way it needs to work for a heat pump, you will have your furnace and AC competing against each other. Many do not realize that thermostats can be compatible with multiple types of equipment. Ĭommon programming discrepancies include running the thermostat for a heat pump system instead of a furnace and vice versa. You can learn more about how to recalibrate your thermostat here. The owner's manual will provide you with information for navigating the controls on the thermostat to set it according to your needs. To make sure the thermostat is programmed correctly, you must refer to the owner's manual. Thermostats can be a bit tricky to program, especially if you're not sure which mode is suitable for your home. In order for the thermostat to operate as it should, it must be programmed correctly. If the thermostat is not working, it may be due to a programming error. I’ve found some interesting features which I think are useful and time-saving. In Luminar AI, it is all clear and understandable. As in Adobe Photoshop, sometimes even experts are confused because the tools are just symbols unless the cursor is placed over them. However, when you start using, it you’ll notice the changes. If you’ve used Luminar 4 before, then you might not see a difference in appearance at first. Let’s have a look at what makes it so special compared to all other existing photo editing software.įor starters, Luminar AI’s features are much more advanced. Luminar Ai not only saves time, but also saves the effort of doing it manually. Luminar AI editing has played a requisite role in saving time whereas a simple sky replacement would take an hour in Adobe Photoshop, in Luminair AI you only have to look for a matching template to the picture. Artificial intelligence makes it more advanced because it recognizes the object in the image and recommends the templates which are a good fit for the photo. I’d say it is the most advanced version of all existing photo editing software. Luminar AI is much simpler compared to Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Luminar AI is entirely powered by artificial intelligence. With each passing day, we’re provided with better and better solutions for existing problems Skylum is one such software company that has developed software similar to Adobe Photoshop, but much better and AI-powered, such as Luminar 4 and Luminar AI.
But thanks to the little guys in the app, we have an infinite supply of letters and words to build and weave together in wonderful ways. There simply aren’t enough positive words I can heap upon Numberlys. I assume this will be fixed in a future update Moonbot has been great about updating and patching their apps in the past. I did experience one glitch: the app crashed on my first generation iPad every time I reached the mini game for the letter B, no matter how many times I tried to access it. It’s a passion they do a marvelous job of passing on to their fans. It beautifully conveys a child-like wonder as each new letter is completed - a thinly veiled reference to Moonbot’s passion for words and storytelling. Numberlys is a storybook in structure, even though it feels more like an interactive short film. The app also comes with a lovely original soundtrack that plays non-stop throughout the story. These little shifts tell me that Moonbot isn’t interested in tying themselves down to one way of doing things, that they love trying new methods, and that they make serving the needs of a story (or an app) among their top priorities, regardless of what those needs may be. Numberlys also gives Moonbot an opportunity to playfully change the perspective, switching to portrait view instead of the landscape view that Morris Lessmore used. The color red is inserted at opportune moments, representing the things that you can interact with. Moonbot’s insistence on crafting Numberlys in a stylized way works on every level, right down to the grainy, black and white aesthetic. You can go through them one by one, or pull down an index menu (an artistic marvel in its own right that’s designed as spinning gears) to select a letter or scene to jump to. A few letters are created in pairs, but for the most part, your objective is to build the entire alphabet, a single letter at a time. Using crazy and clever tools of their trade, they bend, twist, hammer, and bounce on huge metal beams until they arrive at the desired shape - actions that you control. When they go rogue from society and commandeer a massive factory to build their new alphabet, the viewer is invited to join them in their work. Our five little heroes are a delightful crew who have a tendency for pratfalls and a talent for creativity. The animated scenes - and Numberlys is probably made up of a good 50-60% CGI animation - are utterly euphoric, on a Pixar level of quality and expressiveness. You can turn off the curiously Russian-accented voiceover for the narrated segments, should you want to read it for yourself or aloud to someone else. Numberlys screenshotĪs the app plays, the action switches between silent movie-style “caption cards,” which narrate the Numberlys’ tale, and the animated scenes. It’s a pivotal decision that inspires them to create the first alphabet, an action that will have major ramifications for their world. In this drab but fascinating world, we’re introduced to five characters who grow tired of their humdrum existence and decide that they need something better than numbers to express themselves. Numbers are used for everything, including names, objects, and places. In this invented world, there are only numbers. Imagine the world of Metropolis, if it were inhabited by adorable little round-headed creatures with big, expressive eyes, who know nothing of letters or words. Numberlys is a perfect melding of their glorious animation and the inventive ways they make the reader part of the story. I have no idea how they do it, but I hope they never stop. It’s magical the way that Moonbot Studios, creators of The Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore, imbue brilliant creativity and pure joy into everything they create. Tidal song volume is louder than my library. The idea of having Tidal library + my personal library seemed like the utopia I had with GPM, but it falls short in several places. While I could categorize most of this in "Areas for Potential Improvement", I felt like Tidal really deserves its own spot. Unlike normal metadata based matching, this will get similar songs matched together even if the artists are distant. I love being in total control of adding things to the top or bottom of queue. Queue system - its sad I have to even highlight this, but so many services get this wrong (cough spotify). If you drive a lot in dead spots, its great that Plexamp is constantly caching your queue ahead of time so playback is uninterrupted. Google Play Music did this but YTM seemingly does not. This is a big one that Plexamp does flawlessly. (Don't flame me on this, I'm just explaining my use case) I know several people want to download their entire catalog but that defeats the purpose of Plex server in my opinion - I just have it smart download my liked songs/library radio and am pretty content with that. Downloads feature has worked flawlessly for me.While it has some quirks (some I go into below), its pretty consistent. The interface is pretty clean and makes sense.I honestly listen to this more than anything else and is one of those features I never knew I wanted until I had it. The Library radio is great - it mixes liked songs with popular tracks from my library.Starting off with the things I absolutely love about Plexamp. I had never really rated a song in any service until recently and am not a playlist person. I primarily listen to music as either entire albums or library on random. I was a big Google Play Music user/subscriber that took full advantage of the combo of streaming+music locker service, but the YouTube Music transition has been less than stellar for my habits for a lot of reasons I won't go into. I'm a very long time Plex user but never really used it for music prior to this year. I'm a huge fan of Plexamp, so going into this note that while I am critical in several areas, overall I'm at like an 8.5/10 satisfaction. Not all of them, but there are certain ones that are consistent and I will generally listen to anything put out by that label (Dirtybird, Anjunadeep, etc).I thought it might be interesting and/or helpful to share my experiences of Plexamp over the last several months, along with several suggestions for improvement that I've encountered. I do this one too, my Playa collection is fucking dope Green Velvet/Cajmere/Get Real/Geo Vogt/Half Pint/Curan Stone/Gino VittoriĪlso to tie artists that did shows, like all the artists that performed at Lilith Fair, Newport Jazz Fest, Burning Man, whatever. Kieran Hebden/Four tet/KH/multiple wingdings It is really nice to be able to put them all in one place. there are countless examples in the electronic music world, where many artists use aliases when they want to branch out and do different styles of music.įor example, over the last 20 years or so Eric Prydz has released music under several alias (Pryda, Cirez D, Tonja Holma) in addition to using his given name, depending on the style. Yes, collections are a godsend for this-artists like Jack White, you can put The Raconteurs and his solo stuff together with The White Stripes. For instance, an artist that was part of an act that ended, is part of another act currently, and sometimes works solo on the side.
